The Centre for Asia Pacific Pro Bono (CAPPB) is housed within the Law Council of Australia Secretariat. It seeks to match requests for pro bono assistance from organisations (including governments) in the Asia-Pacific region with appropriate international pro bono legal service providers in Australia. In doing so, the CAPPB aims to support development in the law and justice sector of Asia-Pacific countries.

    The Law Council has welcomed the announcement by the Commonwealth Attorney General in July 2011 regarding funding for the establishment and administration of a clearinghouse at the Council’s Secretariat to support the Australian legal profession’s pro bono work in the Asia-Pacific.
